My husband, Chuck, and I—along with our children and parents—were all raised right here in Anderson, IN. We have devoted over 20 years to teaching and coaching within Anderson Community Schools. I also served as principal of Anderson’s alternative school, COMPASS, for six years. Working with our city’s most at-risk students was incredibly meaningful to me, especially supporting their healing and teaching them effective ways to manage stress and trauma.
Feeling a deep calling to share the healing practices that had transformed both my life and the lives of my students, I made the difficult decision to leave my beloved role as principal. Inspired by this vision, Chuck and I sold our home to invest in a building for my new venture. Together, we purchased the historic Madison County Correctional Complex on Main Street—a building that once served as a work release facility and jail.
Without a home of our own, we moved in with Chuck’s parents and lived there for nearly two years while transforming the upstairs of the building into our residence. Once settled, we immediately began construction on what would become our healing center—a place dedicated to community wellness and transformation.
At Studio Zen, we cultivate inner peace, personal growth, and community connection through holistic practices, creative expression, and mindful living. We offer a serene, inclusive space where individuals can explore healing, movement, meditation, and self-discovery. Guided by compassion and purpose, we are committed to uplifting our local community while supporting a not-for-profit arm dedicated to making wellness accessible for all.
A percentage of EVERY sale goes directly to our not-for-profit. At Studio Zen, we believe that healing, mindfulness, and wellness should be accessible to everyone—not just a privileged few. That’s why we created Studio Zen’s Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of Studio Zen, dedicated to expanding access to holistic care, education, and healing arts in our community.
